Job Description: 

GENERAL PURPOSE:

To ensure the efficient service of food and beverage to all guests in the Restaurant, ensuring the restaurant's standards and guest requirements are met at all times.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • To provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times
  • To ensure good communication with all your colleagues and superiors
  • To maintain complete knowledge of all areas of the restaurant
  • To service and be responsible for your assigned area
  • To ensure the overall cleanliness of all areas of BOH and the restaurant, public areas at all times
  • To ensure that all opening and closing duties are completed to the Company standards
  • Carry out any reasonable request made by Management
  • To be on the floor in uniform and well groomed for the start of your shift
  • To be in full uniform at all times whilst on duty
  • To report to the manager on duty at any point that uniform is damaged or spoilt
  • To ensure with training that all standards of service are maintained

Kitchen Porters

  • Working with chefs
  • Dishwashing all operating and service equipment
  • Place all operating equipment back on shelves
  • Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, tables, chairs, refrigerators, clean ventilators
  • Clean ovens and grills
  • Wastage/ Bins-  Empties wastebaskets and recyclables and transports to disposal area

 

Accountability:

  • Actively participate in assisting to achieve departmental goals and objectives and carry out assigned work by H.O.Ds and Supervisors.
  • Actively engage in your own personal development to benefit the business and improve your personal skills – probationary period reviews, annual appraisals, attending training and development courses.
  • Actively participate in weekly / monthly departmental meetings and any other meetings that you are required to attend.
  • Actively participate in addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Actively participate to ensure that Staff Handbook is adhered to at all times.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Walk and stand
  • Climb
  • Bend forward
  • Kneel down
  • Reach and grasp
  • Push and pull objects
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, sometimes over shoulder.
  • Repetitive bending and lifting of items
  • Repetitive arm movements

Person Specification and Experience:

  • Ability to communicate with customers and peers with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Self motivated and flexible.
  • Lively and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations successfully
  • Good organisational skills
