The role is part time – 2 days a week, with a daily rate of £160 - £195 – could be negotiated. Will be accountable and reporting to the MFC Trustees.

Job Description: 

We are seeking an effervescently bright, professionally accomplished Managing Director to continue to galvanise organisational development, oversee the delivery of our high-quality innovative services, and manage our teams.

Founded, led and delivered by people with Mental Health experience, we are a small but influential charity with a turnover of £200k and an established reputation for excellence.

We are currently delivering three main projects:


• The Dragon Café is:

- Led by those who have been affected by mental ill health

- An innovative and creative social space to support current, past, on-going mental ill health.

- Delivered every Monday from midday until 8.30pm at St George The Crypt in Borough



• Recreate Psychiatry

- Where people who have experience of psychiatry engage in creative dialogues with mental health professionals. There is 15 months funding in place to deliver       this project. 



• Dragon Café in the City

- Is to develop a sustainable wellbeing space that improves the health and wellbeing of City workers and residents in the heart of the City of London. There is a         6-month pilot in Shoe Lane Library in the City, meeting fortnightly on a Thursday– we are looking to see if this can be a sustainable project.



The post holder will also need to:

• Enhance relationships with existing eternal stakeholders and have ability to demonstrate the value of any funding from organisations.

• Have experience of identifying and building new partnerships that further the objectives of MFC


Person specification and Experience required: 

The role calls for:

• An ability to manage multiple projects, and complex organisational aims

• An ability to reconcile precision of delivery and agility of outlook

• An ability to support and mentor staff, and to lead on staff development

• An ability to develop organisational capability

• An understanding of the funding and policy landscapes

• An understanding of both the Arts and Health sectors

• A deep commitment to equality and diversity.



Experience of leading an organisation

At least 3 years experience at a Senior Management level
