Job Description: 

There is an opportunity to join a leading operator of serviced apartments in London.

With over 660 apartments in our portfolio situated in six key locations around the city, we are undeniably the experts in our industry and consistently offer value to our clients. Our apartments are available for stays from just 1 night, to stays of 1 year and longer. 2017 is a very exciting year for us as we recruit, train and develop our Team for launch of our new Hotel in Westminster which was opened on the 1st of June.

We pride ourselves on being leaders in our industry and we are currently seeking a Business Development Executive to join our energetic and vibrant team. Please note that the successful candidate may be based initially in London Bridge and then in Waterloo.

As a Business Development Manager, you are ultimately accountable for establishing a customer base, identifying sales opportunities and growing revenues in addition to increasing the awareness of the Marlin brand. This will demand the ability to quickly develop high value, trusted relationships with customers, identify and define customer needs, articulate our value proposition, differentiate Marlin from the competition and ultimately positioning Marlin as a strategic accommodation partner for corporate accommodation needs in London.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pro-actively research, identify and target new revenue opportunities in order to develop, grow and maintain a new business sales plan within the market
  • Create and maintain a sales pipeline of qualified opportunities within the designated market
  • Proactively engage with prospects to fully understand their requirements and identify and create new business opportunities, developing a strong business relationships with key decision makers and influencers.
  • Support the business development process to maximise expertise and knowledge sharing, through the provision of accurate and up to date information relating to the generation of leads, management of prospects, generation of proposals and the raising of orders
  • Liaise with other internal departments as required (e.g. Reservations, Receptions, Operation Managers) to ensure smooth running of all customer interactions.
  • Provide accurate forecasts and reports on activity and sales performance as and when required.
Person specification and Experience required: 
  • Accomplished and experienced B2B Sales Manager who is commercially aware and has a proven track record of exceeding targets
  • Ability to demonstrate business value to corporations within the market
  • Documented experience of selling to both mid and large corporates
  • Established relationships across procurement industry when it comes to selling services to companies
  • Knowledge of the travel industry beneficial
  • A high degree of commercial acumen and highly developed, proven business development skills
  • Demonstrates excellent account/relationship management, having developed and cultivated lasting customer relationships
  • Proven customer engagement skills
  • Ability to succeed in all areas of sales process, creating interest, creating trust and closing
  • Proven track record in a consultative and solution selling capacity which would assist in selling to the corporate booker
  • Self-starter with ability to apply initiative and make objective decisions around opportunity qualification
  • Proven ability to engage influence and persuade the customer
  • Ability to successfully leverage internal resources cross functionally
  • Excellent and credible presentation skills
  • Ability to take decisive action / make judgments even when the stakes are high for the individual/team and company
  • Technical understanding of booking functionality and Industry related work experience would be advantageous
